Gerardo de la Peña is a Senior Advisor to Monarch Global Strategies working out of Mexico City. He has more than twenty years of experience as a senior executive serving across multiple presidential administrations and in multiple agencies in Mexico, including the foreign ministry (SRE), the department of commerce (Economía where he was director general for Small and Medium Enterprises), and the office of the president (where he helped coordinate the economic cabinet).

Earlier in his career, before nearly two decades working for the Federal Government in Mexico, he served as a strategic consultant for Deloitte Consulting where his work helped several Mexican states balance their budgets during the 2002 fiscal crisis.

Mr. de la Peña currently serves as a Founding Board Member of México Cómo Vamos, a think tank whose mission is to promote sustained economic growth in Mexico and, in turn, to generate more and better jobs in Mexico. He maintains a strong relationship with the University of Chicago, where he served on the Alumni Board of Governors and received the Alumni Service Award.
